What is Robotic Cardiac Surgery?

Robotic-assisted cardiac surgery is a minimally invasive approach that uses robotic technology to enhance the surgeon’s precision and control. Instead of performing procedures through a full sternotomy, surgeons operate through a few small incisions using robotic arms that translate their movements with remarkable accuracy. This approach allows for improved visualization of delicate anatomy, reduced trauma to the chest, and faster recovery for patients.¹ ² Robotic techniques are now well established in mitral valve repair, coronary revascularization, and other complex cardiac procedures, with growing evidence that outcomes are safe, reproducible, and cost-effective in experienced centers.² ³ At Genesee BioMedical, we design instruments and devices that integrate seamlessly into these robotic platforms — giving cardiac teams the tools they need for reliable exposure, effective valve repair, and safe, reproducible results.
