TransForm™ McCarthy Mitral Annuloplasty Ring

Transform Your Practice. Your Mindset. Your Results.

Designed for Lifetime Management of the Mitral Repair Patient and for Minimally Invasive Surgery

TransForm™ is a next-generation mitral annuloplasty ring engineered for use across all mitral valve repair etiologies and surgical approaches — including sternotomy, minimally invasive (MICS), and robotic procedures.

Key Features:

  • Engineered for minimally invasive and robotic mitral surgery — flexible design passes easily through small incisions while offering the benefits of a complete ring
  • Transforms from “D” to “O” — supports annular circularity for valve-in-ring compatibility
  • Dual semi-rigid segments with flexible commissures — provide targeted anterior/posterior support and dynamic motion
  • Saddle-shape with silicone core — preserves native mitral geometry and applies gentle, elastic reshaping force
  • Braided polyester cuff — allows smooth, controlled needle penetration and suture security
  • Barium-impregnated silicone with radiopaque marker

    Clinical Considerations

TransForm™ is designed to support dynamic annular remodeling while preserving long-term coaptation integrity. Its structure enables precise access through minimally invasive and robotic workflows, and its compatibility with measurement-guided planning supports reproducible outcomes. The ring aligns with McCarthy’s multiparameter algorithm for sizing degenerative mitral valves, helping reduce residual prolapse or restriction.

Measurement-Driven Repair Backed by Surgical Insight

TransForm™ is engineered to align with the multiparameter sizing algorithm developed by McCarthy et al. (2022), which simplifies surgical planning and supports reproducibility in mitral valve repair. The approach emphasizes achieving a coaptation length of 5–10 mm and encourages ring selection based on anatomic measurements — rather than leaflet height alone. This enables surgical teams to avoid under- or over-sizing and achieve consistent leaflet coaptation across patient anatomies. The TransForm™ design also supports annular transformation from a natural “D” shape to a more circular “O” configuration, made possible by its internal silicone core and precisely placed stiffeners.

Indications: The TransForm™ Annuloplasty Rings are indicated for the surgical reconstruction or remodeling of diseased or damaged mitral valves. The ring provides support for and restricts expansion of the mitral annulus.

Warnings: Only surgeons who have received adequate training to determine whether incompetent, stenotic, or diseased heart valves are capable of being repaired or replaced should use this device. Refer to the Instructions for Use (IFU) for a full list of warnings, precautions and adverse events.

CAUTION: Federal law (USA) restricts this device to sale by, or on the order of, a physician.
